About the Teacher

Hello and Welcome!!

D2 Division Champs and RI State Runner-Up

 I am Mr. Chu and I'll be teaching computers this year at Mount Pleasant high school.  I have been teaching for about 14 years, all of which have been with Providence schools.  This is my second year teaching at Mount Pleasant high school, where I also serve as the school's technology support teacher.  Prior to this, I taught at Central high school, where I still coach the girls and boys volleyball team.

I graduated from Rhode Island College in 1998 with a bachelors degree in Social Science and History.  Currently, I am pursuing my Masters degree from National University in Educational Technology -  only 3 more classes to go!

My Family

When I'm not teaching or coaching, I enjoy spending time with my family.  My wife is also a teacher in Providence.  She teaches ESL 3rd grade at Alan Shawn Feinstein Elementary.    We have three amazing children ages 14, 10, and 1.  

In addition to spending time with my family, my hobbies include basketball, volleyball, martial arts, video games, traveling, and catching a good movie at the theater.
